An indicative comparison of the policy documents linked below. Cover, limits and exclusions depend on the exact product and option you buy. These are Spanish-market products: confirm your residence, country of purchase and eligibility with the provider. Policy documents and some quote pages are in Spanish.

There is no fixed price: request a quote for your dates, residence and options. Check the discount in the quote. Opening a link does not purchase insurance. These are affiliate links.

Before you buy

The table links to each product's details and wording. Confirm the final price, discount, eligibility and covered activities in your quote. Choose cover that suits your needs: a higher medical limit does not make one policy best for everyone.

Compare cover for your circumstances

  1. Specify your visa, usual residence, dates and everyone who needs cover.
  2. Describe the work and activities you will actually do.
  3. Compare the same trip length and policy option.
  4. Check limits, exclusions, excesses and how to request assistance.

Residence is not the same as nationality or your current location. State where you usually live and the country you are buying from. Tell the provider if you are already in Australia. Check the rules for the policyholder and each insured person separately, along with the available assistance languages.

Am I eligible for Medicare in Australia?Check the eligibility rules for public healthcare.

Medicare, travel insurance, OVHC and OSHC

A Spanish passport alone does not establish Medicare eligibility. Travel insurance, Overseas Visitors Health Cover (OVHC) and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) serve different purposes. International students generally need OSHC unless an exemption applies; ordinary travel insurance is not a substitute.

Eligibility depends on the applicable reciprocal healthcare agreement and your circumstances, including residence and visa status. Enrolment and limits differ; check Services Australia before relying on Medicare. It does not replace comprehensive travel insurance.

Holding a Working Holiday Visa does not automatically give you Medicare. Eligibility depends on the reciprocal agreement and your circumstances, not simply your visa subclass. Spanish nationality alone does not qualify you.

Check your eligibility before travelling and consider suitable health cover for your stay.

How do I extend cover or make a claim?Renewals, extensions and claims.

Can I extend or renew my insurance?

If you need to stay in Australia longer, check whether your insurer allows an extension or renewal.

Request an extension before your current cover ends.

Extension terms, waiting periods and renewal options depend on the policy you buy.

How do I get assistance or make a claim?

If you need medical assistance, contact the insurer's assistance service and follow its instructions. In an emergency, get urgent help first.

Keep invoices, medical reports, receipts and other documents relating to the incident when making a reimbursement claim.

Claim procedures and deadlines depend on your policy wording.
